The Reopening of the Café in Ravenscourt Park!

We’re delighted to announce that the process of reopening the café in Ravenscourt Park has begun.
London park café company Roots & Berries will be opening a pop up café for everyone to enjoy in the warmer months. It will serve artisan coffee and hot drinks, bakery, ice cream and a simple food menu to start with, with more delicious things to enjoy as the café becomes more established!
Roots & Berries will then fully renovate the interior of the café in the winter to really make this special place the wonderful meeting spot that it deserves to be.
We’re really pleased to be working with the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and our neighbours the Hammersmith Community Gardens to make this a café for everyone in Ravenscourt Park to be proud of.
And to recognise the inspiring nature, heritage and community in this beautiful park, we’ve decided to slightly update the name. So we look forward to welcoming you to…

A little bit more about us…

We are a family of cafés in London’s lovely parks and green spaces. Just like The Tea House, the name and identity of each of our cafés is rooted in its own corner of London.

So wherever you see the Roots & Berries logo you can be assured you will find good food and coffee, to match the beautiful spot you are in.

Good food & coffee is just the start!

We’ve built our business to be a genuine and positive influence on our local communities.

We like to work with local community groups and activity providers, to make a difference to the local areas we serve. During the pandemic, we provided 2,000 meals for our local hospital staff and 1,000 pieces of cake to care homes in South West London. We have regular charity bakery items that raise money for our local food banks, and we get behind community initiatives in the park, such as helping to raise funds for the Streatham Common paddling pool to open each summer, and selling swan and duck food year round to raise money for The Friends of Wandsworth Common.

We care about creating really tasty, high quality food, using ingredients from carefully selected and trusted suppliers

At our cafés you’ll find everything from a simple and affordable cheese toastie or an outstanding chargrilled bacon bap, to more sophisticated salads and seasonal hot dishes, all prepared and served by our skilled chefs – for more examples of what will be on offer please see below and the menu page.

Parks are places where childhood memories are made, and so our food for children is freshly prepared, filling and tasty! We’re a family business and have children of our own, so we really understand what parents want when they visit, be it with babes in arms, toddlers out on their first walks, or young adventurers who need lunch or tea after tearing around the park.

Our bakery is made from scratch by our artisan bakers, all of it at our own bakery, and all of it totally delicious. We continually refine and develop our recipes to keep our classics timelessly delicious and bring you exciting new tastes.

Artisan Coffee

Our trained baristas use Curious Roo coffee beans, roasted in Ealing. If you’re a fan of the Artisan coffee shops run by Curious Roo’s founders Edwin & Magda (in Sheen, Putney & Chiswick) you will know how good the beans are!

Delicious all day brunch

Coming soon, for Autumn/Winter days…from delicious brunch baps, with Cacklebean Eggs & Dry Cured Bacon and the finest Cumberland sausages, to our house-made soups and ingredient-packed sourdough toasties, you will find something on our menu to tickle your tastebuds.

Scrumptious home baking

All our delicious cakes are created from scratch at our bakery by chefs Frank, Ana and their talented team. We have a treat for everyone, from our classic Chocolate & Orange Marble Cake, or our Vegan Carrot Cake with Coconut frosting.

Teas, infusions and hot chocolates

We use Bellevue Teas and Infusions and delicious Green & Blacks hot chocolate (topped with whipped cream and marshmallows, if you like!). We do special kiddie versions for the little ones too. Oh and when it comes to seasonal drinks with syrups, we design and create the syrups from scratch, so there are no synthetic tastes.

Jude’s Ice cream

We have worked with Jude’s since 2013, a family owned ice cream company based in Hampshire. We stock a full range of their delicious ice creams and sorbets, and pair them up with waffle cones, sprinkles and sauces to make summer dreams come true. For those in a rush, we also have grab-and-go tubs, for when you just can’t wait! We also have our own soft-serve, for when only a Mr Whippy will do.
